Happy Spring! We’re kicking off the season planting the seeds of wellness and recovery by offering new peer support groups! With your participation and courage to come as you are, these groups will sprout on Monday, April 1st. No matter the season you’re experiencing— you may be planting seeds for growth, learning when to water yourself with compassion and love, or maybe you’ve blossomed and would like to share your expressions with others—our peer-led support groups focus on meeting you where you are!
Here are TACID’s new groups:
- Empowered Bodies, Empowered Minds is for female identifying individuals to gather in a non-judgmental space for self-exploration and connection. We focus on embracing the unique features of our bodies by practicing acceptance through guided discussions, inspirational books, guest speakers, and more. Mondays 1:00-2:30PM onsite
- The Caregiver’s Space is for people who are caring for or have cared for individuals faced with various health challenges or disabilities. This group offers a valuable platform for caregivers to connect, support each other, and gain the strength and resilience needed to navigate challenging emotions and situations. Wednesdays 3:00-4:15 onsite
- “Madly in Love with Me” Woman’s Group is based on the book (of the same name) by Christine Arylo. This welcoming space is for those who identify as women to gather in exploration of a deep sense of love and compassion. The goal is to create a nurturing and empowering environment for women to embrace their worthiness and thrive in their journey towards greater self-love and acceptance. Tuesdays 11:30AM-12:30PM
- The Writer’s Block promotes creative expression with writing exercises through journaling, poetry, free-writing, short stories, and more. Our purpose is to help process thoughts, emotions, and encourage building confidence by writing in a group setting that is safe and non-judgmental. Fridays 11:30AM-12:45PM
- Busy Hands, Busy Minds provides a low-pressure environment in working through anxieties around small talk. Together we practice communication skills and connection building with one another. To relieve pressure, everyone is encouraged to bring a small portable craft (crochet, sewing, knitting, drawing project, or anything!) to keep their hands occupied during the group. (Note: At this time, we are not teaching crafts and will not be able to provide supplies outside of paper and pens for doodling.) Wednesdays 1:00-2:15PM
Beginning in April, we’re also offering our first peer support group for CPCs and other peer supporters!
- Peer to Peer: Peer Support for Peer Supporters is a space for peer counselors, wellness/life coaches, or anyone providing a service within the behavioral health field. This space is to discuss boundaries, protocols, or experiences to unpack as an educational opportunity for skill development to better us and our communities! Mondays 3:00-4:15PM
We’re looking forward to having you join us! As a reminder, all TACID peer support groups and services are for ages 18+ AND free of charge!
